Reading and the School Library Media Specialist Elementary Workshop

Liz Deskins, an elementary librarian from Ohio, presented this well attended, fantastic workshop.  Librarians have a vital role in both reading advocacy and reading instruction.  We received a large notebook full of ideas, research and links to added information about the librarian’s proven importance in reading success.  It was a full productive day, which included an excellent power point by Liz (Legislation, Trends and Studies; Instructional Strategies; Technology and Reading; Advocacy; and Professional Literature); brainstorming and sharing ideas with other elementary librarians; and working on personal action plans.
